Anantara Uluwatu Resort

From the photos we’d seen before we arrived in Bali, we knew Anantara Uluwatu would be a beautiful resort to film. But we didn’t realise how good it really was until we got to spend a few nights there. Personally I loved the architectural concept— minimalistic with a lot of open space and texture. It feels like the resort is there to provide just enough luxury, while still keeping the spotlight on the location and natural surroundings. There’s plenty of attention to detail and the guest experience is clearly a focus with super helpful staff on call to bring you whatever you want while you lounge by the pool. The main infinity pool is one of the big draw cards, featuring split levels, shady trees and an impressive ocean view. The entire resort is actually situated on the edge of a cliff, so it’s probably one of the best views you’ll get in Bali (check out the photos below).

The resort suites are spacious and luxurious with the right amount of minimalism. In addition to the suites, the resort also offers a number of 2 or 3 bedroom villas which come with their own pool, kitchen, dining and living areas. While more expensive than the suites, they are the ultimate way to unwind and enjoy the resort and the amazing location in complete luxury. There’s nothing better than waking up in the morning, getting out of bed and diving straight into your own infinity pool overlooking one of the best surf beaches in Bali.

There’s some great facilities on the property too—3 different restaurants (including teppanyaki) with amazing views, day spa, gym and even a glass wedding chapel. The food on offer is some of the best we’ve had. We mainly enjoyed the fresh seafood and teppanyaki which was top notch. Breakfast was awesome with part buffet, part a la carte and complimentary ocean views. But the best experience was definitely having fresh seafood and beers cliff-side at Splash restaurant while we watched day turn into night through one of the most impressive sunsets we’ve seen.

Overall Anantara Uluwatu is a true 5 star resort with its own style and character. It is 100% recommended if you’re looking for luxury, relaxation and indulgence. We seriously cannot wait to go back. To find out how to get there or to make a reservation, check out their website!
